Can not find the bulletin, but there is a modified plug and wiring for the fuel pressure regulator. The landrover part No is YMQ503320 and retail at £28.39 plus vat.
There is a corrosion problem with the old plugs that cause a fluctuation with the voltage to the cpu, giving misfire or loss of power especially under load.
It’s a easy fit.

See LR tech service bulletin LTB00052:

Summary:
A customer may report a concern of engine hesitation, poor performance, poor engine idle or poor starting.

Cause: Investigation using diagnostic equipment points to the fuel pressure sensor, which when renewed can rectify the problem. However, the root cause of this issue is likely to be corroded connections in the fuel pressure sensor harness connector and renewing the sensor alone may not permanently repair the problem.
Action: Should a customer express concern regarding the above and diagnosis indicates the fuel pressure sensor to be the cause, refer to the Service Procedure detailed in this bulletin to renew the sensor and harness connector.

Parts Required:
Description Part Number Quantity
Harness repair kit YMQ503320 1
Fuel pressure sensor STC4768 1
O-Ring MYX000040 1

Can cheap places like Paddocs deliver things like this, or do you have to buy original stuff from an LR-dealer?

Edit: Mine is ****ed up after I tried to connekt a Synergy 2. The engine is more noisy than before.

What have you knackered? If it just needs a new plug give Ron a call I would think he would supply you with one.

It's normal for the engine to sound a little harsher with the synergy fitted due to the increase in fueling.

Sorry, I ment thise parts:

Harness repair kit YMQ503320 1
Fuel pressure sensor STC4768 1
O-Ring MYX000040 1

As I said, the engine runs harder after I removed the synergy 2. And nothing happend when I had the tuning on. I only use it with the Pierburg maf now.

I have also done the EGR-blank and valvehousing filter. The positive is, I have no smoke at all.

Dealer only as far as I know. Google the numbers or description and see what comes up...

I would start be disconnecting all the electrical connectors, then undoing the mounting bolts.

may be a bit of a wiggle, but should come out in the end.

why do you need to remove the ecu ?

Hi, this is a query for Torsen if you're still actve on the site -- I've just come across your April 28 2010 post about having done your EGR-blank and valvehousing filter, and you say you've no more smoke. As I'm keen on reducing my smoke too (2002 TD4) I'm chasing down all the leads I can find. Just wanted to ask, sorry, but what did you mean by valvehousing filter? Is this the crankcase filter? Thanks in advance.
