Fitted a new regulator this afternoon in the discovery 1 and I'm stumped on getting the glass into the new channel and rubber it just doesn't want to know
Is it a case of removing the window frame somehow and taking the glass out to refit the channel or is there a trick to getting it in while still in the door

Cheers

my new regulator comes tomorrow as the old one had teeth missing so window wouldn't go up :( wonder if ill have the same problem...

maybe a little lubricant on the channel may help it slide in? id imagine you can do it whilst in the door.

Hi bud , Iv been trying to ease it in with lube like a gentleman but it's being stubborn as arseholes
Iv also tryed using the motors power to push it all together but it's not working yet , I'll go fetch the BIG hammer soon

Iv Cut and used 3 strips of the excess rubber instead of the whole length and it's fitted into the channel nicely for now all working as it should , fingers crossed I can put the door card back on in a couple of days once I know it's sorted for good

I've seen this done in the garage when I needed mine doing...... basically they took the window out turned it upside down and rested it on a rubber mat..... then they applied lube on the rubber channel and placed it at the bottom of the window (still upside down)

Then they tapped it into place using a rubber mallet

The garage did mention that they had broke windows doing it this way but if your gentle it works well

I accept no responsibility if this method does not work or if you break your window

if you lube rubber strip with washing up liquid etc and place a suitable block of wood under channel glass can be knocked in from the top with rubber mallet working from one end to the other
