As some of you may have read yesterday, I jacked up the disco to check rubbing of the wheels on the body and squashed a section of the chassis. This is a 1998 R reg 300tdi which is fairly clean all round and ok condition inside..... surprised at the rot I have found under it no I've started chipping the 2" coating of mud off

Anyway, I was just wondering if the body can be removed so I can shot blast the whole chassis, weld anything needed and then have it dipped :D I know a mate that does the dipping so it would hopefully be nearly free

Any ideas how it could be done and what would need to be undone?

i won't think there would be to much.

body mount bolts
wiring
rad
any other engine bay bits that are bolted to the body
fuel lines
brake lines

as above with hand brake ,most can be left with body just unplug bumper lights ,engine wiring, just make sure fuel lines not connected to body at front, clutch flexi ,steering shaft from box or bulkheadwe used to lift them in 2 to 3 hours
