Rear light cluster + Disco 1 + different styles

I had a mishap- with the Disco , backing it into a tight spot and managed to damage the rear light cluster on the passenger side.
This has destroyed the red , white and yellow lenses.
A mate has given me a rear lampcluster from , reportedly a Disco 1.
however this does not have a yellow lens.
This means that with the wiring connector attached I have Fog, brake and a red flashing indicator.
If I disconnect the bulb the indicators flash a double the normal rate.
Any suggestions for an MOT acceptable solution (Flash yellow only between 60 and 120 times a minute.

sounds like a late 300 cluster get a 200 one.

A very late 300 cluster 1998 didn't have the amber bit, 96, 97 and then some 95s but as a dealer retro fit, so why don't you get the correct lens.

Just fit the correct lens, instead of the incorrect one - there was 2 variations of the main rear cluster, the ones without indicator (amber) are 1 year only I think - so you were unlucky to end up with the wrong one.

i haven't checked but i own a 98 disco with only rear indicators in the bumper and i have been lead to believe that the wiring is there for both types of lights as i asked the question on hear once about it as i tow a small trailer and although there are lights on the trailer when driving at night and indicating from a driver behind it looks as though i don't have rear indicators on the disco and want to replace my eye level rear lights for earlier ones so i have more rear indicators and stop lights, if i get chance tomorrow i will have a look and report back.

Mine is also a 98 Disco 1 and had indicators in bumper only
bought the 200 / early 300 style body light clusters, got the soldering iron out to sort wiring and found that I had all wiring and the plug to fit, just plugged them in and re fitted them, simplest job I have done on elmer

They fit simply, at worst you may have to run one wire to indicator, earth already provided, or you may find you have the wiring loom to match.

thanks elmer i didn't get the chance to have a look as the missus nicked the disco for work and she don't finish till 6 pm so may have a look tomorrow if i am sober
