Hi Guys
The wet carpets are getting wetter, need to get my leak fixed.
I have sealed sunroofs, used to have a damp patch on the edge of the roof lining but re-applying the silicone cured this.

Silicon seals the glass to the frame;

Roof lining is now dry but carpet is very wet in the corner of the door at edge of footwell.

I am wondering if this is the windscreen seal failing or the crack in the roof gutterabove the outer edge of the windscreen.
Is there any easy way to check or do I need to strip all the trim out to have a look for drips?
Any help gratefully accepted.

Could be either. I have a similar issue that I'm trying to resolve, just don't have the inclination to strip everything out at present

Did you remove the sunroofs completely and seal between the roof and sunroof flange? When you have the headlining out, a visual inspection should show any other areas that are leaking. For example, roof bars, alpine windows, windscreen etc. The roof skin can also seperate in the area above rear door!! Remove the trim and check for this as well.

Check the drain hole on A post.if i remember its bottom inside at end of sill.

+1 on this, i had the same problem, the drain hole was blocked, look underneath and prod with a thin piece of wire/skewer etc., i looked at the screen, wasnt that, wasn't sunroofs as i don't have em, then i found the drain hole blocked, released it an d about 2 pints of water came out, good luck!!

Just had a quick look, can't see an obvious drain hole. Any clues as to what it looks like?

I really can't see anywhere to poke my wire!
I'm looking under the car in the area below the front door hinges. All I can see is the sidestep mount, side step, plastic arch liner and various bolts. \have I got to remove something to get access?

Look at the front of the roof gutter just above the A-pillar. You should see a small rectangular hole. This drains the water from the gutter and out the bottom of the A-pillar. So gently pour a small amount of water just into that hole. Look on the ground. If you see water then your pipe is not blocked. (TBH looking at the routing of this pipe I can't see how it ever can contribute to water ingress inside).

But no-one seems to have mentioned the obvious? Have you got air conditioning? If so then almost certainly your a/c drain pipes are blocked.

But you really do need to get those front carpets out and dried otherwise you could start rotting your floor. Just done it on my Disco 2 - very straightforward job to do. And the pleasure in driving a car that wasn't swilling water around !!

OK..but worth double checking your a/c drains anyway. Regardless, that carpet does need to come out because the sound-absorbant covering sucks up water like there's no tomorrow.

Your headliner is wet.....the water is coming from above, ie, the roof. You need to stop messing about mate and get the headliner out and see where its leaking. Its only going to get worse!!!!
