Fuel Filler Flap

Hi there. My 2003 disco fuel filler flap is refusing to stay shut. It was fine until the other day when I filled it and then couldn't shut it. The little plastic thing on the flap is there but moves. I never looked at it when it was working and am not sure what it should be like. Any ideas?

Duct tape???

That little plastic thing breaks so that it doesn't spring back round the pin. I bought a new one (it was about £3) and managed to break that one fitting it! So I just wedged a bit of rubber under the bit that catches and it's been fine.

Reading that it seems like gibberish but perhaps you'll understand what I mean!

Had the same problem on mine just found a garden plant tie cut a piece out of it folded it in half and wedged it in to the plastic catch. This made the original catch strong. Worked a treat.

I had a similar problem on mine, I found that with mine the catch that it on the flap had bent out of position slightly so was only just locating in the plastic stay... just slightly bent the catch and hey presto... perfect fit now.
