Fitting steering guard

Hello

I have been meaning to fit a steering guard to my Disco for about 6 months now and have all the parts i need exept one nut that holds part of the steering box in place. Can anyone tell me what nut i need or a part number and where i can get one from.

You should be using the bolt that's already in place

And I'd be worried if there wasn't already a nut on that bolt!

I think I may share your concern.

There is a nut there! its not the bolt i need its the nut and i always replace parts when i can.

errr... a length of fuel hose or a cotter pin - yes

but a specific toleranced nut that holds your steering mechanism to the chassis -NO
Unless you can get a OEM replacement (which i suspect may be tricky and costly) just reuse the original part.

unless its ****ed im sure you can reuse it.

BUT i do share your feelings for replacing items when necessary - i get all my fasteners etc through britpart cos they seem to stock the most amount of OEM nuts and bolts .

So you'd sooner fit ****part than refit a perfectly reusable OEM spec nut!:doh:

Shush! I've had bad bits off britpart, but the fasteners have been top quality. No problems torqueing up.

Anyway...
