Door membrane

Done some work on the drivers door and the waterproof plastic membrane is missing. Any idea's where to buy these ( and what they are actually called?)
and what do they really do if anything?
I have tried searching but search does not seem to be working today!

I just used a sheet of thick polythene sheet, dpc material, stuck it in place with the original mastic and then trimmed it in situ with a craft knife.
Don't know what it's called.

thanks - was planning to use some old dpc lol ! Been pouring water over the car and water does seem to come in from the lock and splash inside so will be fitting the dpc today.

Just remember the bottom edge of the sheet has to be tucked into the bottom of the door not stuck to the surface so that any water drains into the door and not into the car.
