Drivers door on my '96 300 TDI wouldn't close. Replaced lock (pig of a job) but now central locking doesn't work properly. When I lock the drivers door from the inside, all doors lock then unlock immediately but drivers door stays locked. Luckily I haven't put door panel back on so I can still open it from inside. Same thing happens when I lock from key fob but then alarm goes off. Anyone had the same problem?

Thanks for that. Have tried it but to no avail as it seems to need more than a few mm. When linkages connected door won't open at all and have to lift pin from inside the door itself to open it! Now the tailgate won't open. Handle doesn't appear to have enough movement on it. It just doesn't make sense. Am getting a bit cheesed off now. Will just persevere with it and post any success(or lack of it!).

Just readjust the master actuator on it mounting screws until all the doors lock theres a few mil each way of adjustment.

The lock u fitted was a good one it doesn't hsve a broken spring, one symptom of that is when unlocking the pin rises but thn drops bck down halfway.
If to pull/push the actuator manually do all the doors lock/unlock if so good that's the electrics out of the way the rest is mechanical to look for your problem.
Are the linking rods re-assembled back as they should be, nothing fitted reversed or upside down so to speak.
