Hi Guys,
last week changed the oil and filters on my 2002 disco, and as always just checked the red plug for oil as the old girl had been running a little rough since the snow, and found it full of oil
Ordered a new loom and cam cover saeal from Rimmer Bros and following instructions found on this site replaced the loom, not as bad has I imagined took about 2 hrs including cleaning the loom and ecu out with electrical cleaner.
Put it all back together and started car all Ok, so one more problem sorted:), however noticed a small spot of gear oil under the car when I was cleaning up, on checking it appears the front diff is weaping from the input shaft seal.
My question is how difficult is it to replace and anyboby know the part number for the seal? is it just a matter of removing the propshaft, undoing the flange nut, and removing the flange, extracting the seal and fitting a new one?
In the meantime I topped the diff up with oil, only took a little ammount so should be ok for a week or two.
Thanks for your help guys, Landrover ownership would be very expensive without a site like this, keep up the good work.
