diff/gears problem

Disco has been runnng spot on since i got it. drove it home last night and decided to free up my diff as it had siezed. Got diff sorted so i could at least move the stick. However afterwards i couldnt engage any gear at all from gear box.
It wasnt until i engaged and then disengaged the diff with a fair bit of force that i was able to select my driving gears again.
What could have caused this? or is it just me done something daft?

Think there's a possibility you might have put the transfer box into neutral?

dont know what i did. but i would like it not happen again lol

Was it in diff-lock? It could be transmission wind up.

no diff lock was off

You should be able to select first gear with the transfer box in neutral but you wont have any drive untill the the box is engaged..

ah that could have been it. i could select the gears but just had no drive

It's easy done when playing around with the T box the fun is when it drops back in to neutral out on the open road because drive was not fully engaged.
