Central Locking

Hi...
when I unlock the vehicle, all of the latches pop up, but it sounds like a machine gun going off at the drivers door!

So, it looks as though all doors including the rear door are unlocked...however, when I then try to open either rear door, the latch drops as I pull on the handle and is locked again....and I have to reach in from the front door, to lift the latch again...
The rear door is only unlockable with the key!

Any ideas, as it's so frustrating....

drivers door actuator needs adjusting or replacing,they have movement with screws loosened

My wife's D1 had the problem on the rear side door you mention. I took it apart and replaced a broken spring in the latch and all was well. I got the springs from eBay.

It sounds as though you may have a combination of both problems above. After you have checked the actuator have a look at the first thread in this section re door springs.

Re the rear doors it sounds like the tiny springs on them have gone, so parts are available on Ebay - buy a set and do them all.

Re the drivers door it sounds like something has become disconnected which means there is no resistence for the door actuator and it 'machine guns'.

have you mentioned what MY Disco, as the D1, early D2 differ from later D2, and who knows D3 & 4. All would have a different issue.
