Thought they looked like a bargain, what do you reckon?

They are remoulds, so as long as you're happy with that, and the 3 neg's and 3 neutrals of the seller then go for it.

Appreciate that funds are not always available for new stuff, but I'd like to know what sort of wet weather performance these have on normal roads before I'd buy them.

I was looking into getting some remoulds, as yes, over the years they are a lot better.

However, what I found out, was that only the tread is new (well, remoulded) and they do nothing really to the side walls etc, so if they have been badly damaged in the past, then they may still be compromised.

As I do motorway driving as well as everything else, I decided against it, and waited until funds where there, and now have 4 BF Goodrich A/T's fitted for £516.00 (265/70/16) as when you break down the price of the tyres you have looked at - £216.00 delivered - then how much to fit and balance - normally around £15.00 per tyre - £276 - so yes almost half the price - but will they last - what are they like on road/off road - if only temp use, then should be ok, but for all the time, in my opinion, these are what could stop you hitting a tree on a bend, so worth investing in good ones for that reason alone...but your call....

im selling me slightly worn hankooks. Not remoulds, blalanced and on rims for £300 quids.they aint remoulds.:nospamhere::banplease:

I run Dakars on my Disco without any major problems or worries. Apparantly they took half the lead from the local tyre fitters to get balanced though. Wet or dry weather grip is pretty good for such a coarse tread pattern but I have managed tolock them up a couple of times in the wet.

Off road performance is pretty impressive too, grip is good and they dont tend to clog up. Only thing I would say is the side wall lugs dont do much to help climbing out of ruts but you cant have everything at this knid of money.

I run Dakars on my Disco without any problems or worries allso, 265.75.16 i got my tyres for £170 x4 off a fella i went off roadin with 13mm tread so as new, i dont do a lot of motorway driving only to pay n play days and dont do over 65 mph. Off road performance is good, think i was told they are a 80% off road tyre and 20% road tyre.

As other have said these are remoulds but I'm led to believe very high quality jobs, with very careful selection of casings before accepting them for re-moulding.

However, they will not give good on-road mileage and will be noisy. If your usuage is 80% offroad this will not be a problem, but most buyers do far more miles on-road than off.

They will not have the stability on-road of something like BF Goodrich AT's (amazing mileage from these!!) or General AT²'s (my preferred tyre), but they are a bit cheaper in the short term

Camskill are doing AT²'s in your size for about £72 each, so £290 for the 4 plus fitting. Much better value in my opinion.

But the choice is yours............................
