What steering wheel will fit????

I read somewhere that a Td5 steering wheel would pop straight onto earlier model 90s. Bought one to replace my skinny one on a 1989 90 Td, however the spline's are two different sizes!!!!

Is anyone aware of a more modern steering wheel to suit an older model landrover??????? or is it possible to exchange the centres in a safe way??? i dont fancy driving down the road and the wheel start slipping!!!!!

cant change centres - best way is an after-market boss and wheel.

Sorry, realised what you mean now!!!! so a later model boss kit ie 92 -95 will fit onto my earlier model????

apparently a td5 defender wheel fits as a direct replacement for the older (pre-defender) nineties and one-tens.

200 and 300tdi wheels need a new steering column.

Looking at some pics i think he has sold me a wheel that aint off a Td5!!!! am i right in saying a Td5 wheel has a type of raised centre???????

theres two types of td5 wheel, one with a raised centre used on higher spec machines and one thats vinyl covered foam with a pry-off landy badge in't middle - used on poverty-spec machines, like mine.

On the qt services website it shows the higher spec wheel fitting the same boss as the old skinny wheel, and the pry - off badge type Td5 wheel having a seperate boss!!!! so i have purchased the latter so now i need to buy a new boss kit as explained to me earlier. Cheers for the help all.
