Hi all

I'm just about to start a project to turn a 110 into a camper. Just want to pick people's brains really and wondered if anyone has done one. We are doing it as a complete rebuild. I would like it to still look like a standard defender from the outside but be able to carry 4 people ideally and sleep two plus have a little kitchenette type thing! We also want to add a pop up lid for headroom. I know we're hoping for quite a lot! If anyone has any pics of their projects, would love to see these.
Cheers.

I am intending to do something similar. I found another site useful: Expedition portal. Go to the land rover section. Seems to more of our US cousins on the site but still great info there.

I looked into this a while back but ended up with a 90! Anyhoo I did have some thoughts at the time.

Have you considered a roof tent? They usually have additional ground level sections as well, lots of space.

You could construct a removable kitchen type gubbins for the interior but have sleeping accommodation on the roof.

Much of the conversation issues will be trying to cram 4 seats, 2 beds plus conveniences like fridges into such a small space. It will require seats etc that can go flat (expensive)

Much chopping and changing needed between uses.

With a roof tent the interior can be kept closer to stock, lessening the work needed.

What you are suggesting can be done, but not easily or cheaply, especially the raising roof.
