I've got a 3.5i V8 Discovery 1. It has been stood for 3 years since I bought it and prior to parking up there was fluid leaking from the clutch slave cylinder. This didn't matter at the time because I'd bought the car to use the engine as a donor for a Hotrod build I'm doing. 1935 Austin Lichfield.

Plans change and my daily died so I decided to ressurect the Disco.

I've changed the slave cylinder for a brand new one and after inspecting the master decided to get a used one as funds are low at present.

After fitting the Master and slave cylinders I'm having trouble bleeding the system. My brother and I have been doing the standard method of bleeding the system but I don't seem to get any pressure on the pedal. Also the spring has gone so I have to lift the pedal with my toe when bleeding.

Anyone got any ideas@ Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers ... Jon

make sure you fitted slave correct way up!!..ie bleed nepple at top!!

also can be a #### so try pumping fluid in from slave up to master....if that fails leave clutch peddle down over night..ie bit of wood jammed between it and seat..

Same as what zen says, let the air come out on its own! I do this on my bikes rather than shouting and swearing for longer than I need to
