Landyzone Rescue Service
Just a fort - but as more and more of us are meeting up, getting organised into offroading groups and getting to know one another, etc - how about some form of unofficial rescue service.
fur example if anyone is going on a long trip, e.g. to Kernow, Scotland or France, if the driver had the phone number of someone on here and got stuck - then a "HELP!" post could be posted asking fur anyone local to go and render assistance, or to offer local knowledge and advice.
wotcha fink?

Re: Landyzone Rescue Service
"Hello, hello I'm stuck"
"Where are you boyo?"
"In Hampshire....."
"What's the GPS co-ordinates?"
"How do I get that from my Hingdung Satnav CD player?"
"What road are you on?"
"The satnav says I have just left the B77719284"
"There's no such road. What town are you near?"
"I think I saw a sign for Lower Upper Chodbolt"
"The only town with that name is in Kent. Are you sure of the name?"
"Oh it might have been earlier today when I saw it........I can see lots of aeroplanes"
"Are they light aircraft or passenger? Are they taking off or landing?"
"Err they are very high up"
"What can you see around you?"
"Trees"
BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR RR
"Hello, helloo. Can you help me?"
* Please feel free to continue the rescue of this poor wayward individual
** Damned bored at work and need something to relieve the monotony

this generally a good idea, however i doubt peeps would be in position to be able to post a HELP msg here if they were stuck in a field in xyzshire or broken down on the M99 heading to abcland
option 1 - build up a list of peeps orf here willing to give assistance, the country would be devided up into areas etc and the contact details of peeps given out (maybe only to those who will provide cover in other areas)
option 2 - as above but only give out contact details for those peeps who will be covering the intended route - so a few days before someone drove from Staffs to Orkney (me in a few days time) they could be provided with the contact details for those peeps on their route willing to give aid
dunt forget that the sensible peeps on here will have their own RAC/Greenflag cover

I was thinking of option2 - or even less formal.
you must have tel numbers of peeps on here - just call one of them and get them to post a "help" notice on your behalf and, hopefully, someone would respond who was willing to help. your number could then be given to the responder, via pm, so that they could contact you directly.
that way your info would remain relatively secure but, at least, you might have a chance of some help. Not sure its a good idea to post on the interweb that you are going on holiday fur a fortnite or so.

As long as nobody is charging anybody then there shouldn't be an issue. As it is an unorganised service (namely a list of phone numbers) all should be fine.
If you are worried peeps could also list the type of insurance cover they have. I already have business insurance and insurance to tow broken down or disabled vehicles with my landy. As long as it is on an understanding that if things go tits up and your vehicle is damaged it is at the owners own risk (basically just a disclaimer).
