Kidnap and Ransom

Hi All,

Has anyone been watching the Kidnap and Ransom series on ITV with Trevor Eve?

I ask because he has a Discovery 1 with a 04 plate on it.

I am new to this old Landrover lark, but surely on that plate it should be a D2?

Not seen the proggrame If it's the bad guys car could be false plates to hide original id or if they are the cars proper plates they might of had a reg transfer.

He is a good guy lol

You cant have newer plates on your vehicle than its age though, this is what is confusing me.

Not seen it yet but there is a way!

If it had been bought new then stored unregistered, it could be registered new in 2004 on that plate.............

More than likely its a balls up from the program makers!!

Fitted with Disco 1 rear lights, door handles, bumpers, etc ?

landrover had fields full of D1s left unsold when the D2 came out

but i cannot comment on it as i don't watch telly...........

Didn't notice that bit but it's definitely a d2

Even still he only had one day to register it coz the d3 came out on 2 april 2004!

Why do you think it's a D2 ?

It's a D1 unless he has changed the door handles and a few other bits

D1 with an out of place number plate stuck on.

And if you check the reg on askmid it is not on the insurance database, so I reckon it's made up or they just took the plates off something out the scrappy for the purposes of disguising the vehicle for the telly, which may explain why it's not your normal square(ish) one on the back.

The thing about that is, the vehicle was driven on a public road for some of the filming.

Is that not a criminal offence?

Is not the vehicle effectively a ringer?
