Hi all

Just been reading about the possible split of Land Rover and Range Rover brands that Tata Motors is looking in to.:mad::mad:

I can't be the only one who hates this idea! Land Rover has made Range Rover in to what it is today and without the Land Rover and the Rover groups Range Rover would be nothing. We all know what happened when Land Rover split from Rover, the Rover brand slowly faded away and i would hate this to happen if the Land Rover and Range Rover brands split.

If you also hate the idea of the split, leave a comment and vote in the poll and if we have enough support i will but an official petition together that we could pass on to Tata Motors from the vast amount of owners of there vehicles both past and present models. :)

Matt

I wasn't aware companies were governed by public petitions. Or, are you a Tata shareholder? If so you could raise the question at their Annual General Meeting?

Maybe we should also start a petition to reduce fuel costs down to a more reasonable 50p per litre and present that to the government, i am sure they will pay just as much attention to that as Tata will to the other one.

If enough people were to sign the fuel petition and I do mean a huge percentage of the country they would have to listen because if we were to stop buying it they would soon be complaining, you have to remember it's our country not there's, they are there to serve us and if we all feel strongly about something then they should listen, that's what our MP's are there for.

So if we reduce the tax on fuel, are you happy if its added to car tax? Or VAT? Or road pricing? They're not going to make any changes which will lead them worse off. Bit more complicated than just "listening" then reducing tax, isn't it?

That is the impression of most people, reference what MPs are for. But i am afraid it does not work that way unfortunately. The difference between a dictatorship and a democracy is that in a democracy you get to vote for a new dictator every five years.

Of course there not going to reduce anything. But they could if they stopped giving billions to bogo bogo land so the corrupt governments there can buy guns, tanks and fighter jets. Whilst their people starve.
For instance why send flood aid to a country that breeds terrorists and spends billions making thermonuclear weapons. If they can afford to develop and build those they don't need money from us.

i,m sorry to say but unfortunatly it looks to me like landrover is just another great british company thats been sold to foreigners(not sure if i,ve spelt that right:))which will probably end up been built in the far east somewhere, cheap labour massive profits.you only have your goverment to thank for that.most range rovers are sold to overseas customers which maybe the reason behind splitting the company, why pay expensive british wages to build cars when you can pay far east workers peanuts, theres no shipping costs,no tax.companys like landrover should be protected by goverment and thats what the petition should be for to save GREAT BRITISH COMPANYS FROM BEEN SHIPPED ABROAD BY FOREIGN MOTHERF**CKERS.cheers a happy landrover worker

Its all in the giant Muslim plan of taking over the world.

Range Rover HAS to be a part of that.

Errrm, I suppose LR & RR should stay together, I might want to buy a 2011 RR one day and I'd like it to have the abilities only LR can build into it.
As previously mentioned though. Could we accomplish anything by presenting anybody with a petition?

How can it be part of the giant muslim plan when Tata is an Indian company, not a Pakistani one?

With worldwide receipts of US$20 billion for 2009/10 I think Datatek can be assured that TATA Motors is a better management bet than the Indian Gov!
I don`t much care if the company splits R-R off from L-R, so long as there is a future for one or both marques in the UK. If the marketing/financial gurus think there`s more chance of financial success separately then so be it.
TATA won`t throw away the loyal following of this/these names lightly, so although I`m not a fan of "big-business" or "globalisation" I think we`ve gotta accept that in the real world only financially successful companies have any future; and if that means some changes, then accept them and keep factories open in the UK no matter what labels they stick on their products.
