Weird one this, i decided to drive with the windows down today, (cos i wis avin a sneaky fag)((wife thinks av quit)) and as i changed down from 5th to 4rth a heard wot sounded like a zippo snap shut????? so went back to 5th then down again but nowt happend? After a few more goes at this i found that, when at a steady speed of about 60 if i took ma foot off the go pedel an change down straight away i get the zippo snap:confused: The gear changes are smooth, so its not like im raken it inn... an its not that loud, just like a zippo snap shut........ Any ideas!!!

:D :D :D hahahahahaha

At a guess you have an R380 gearbox.:rolleyes: When you go up to fifth there is a locking mechanism to stop you accidently going into reverse. When you return the gear lever to the left hand side of the box the click/crack noise is the mechanism releasing. Try going into fifth with your engine off and then acroos the box as if you wanna go in first or second. Dont panic it's normal.;)
