I know this isnt exactly the right forum but hey, earlier the mother inlaw came round and parked on the street in front of our flat, and as usual to woman who lives in the house opposite has double parked (had another thread previously wi thi freebie and ttrailer about the same) anyways long story short the mother inlaw called to fuzz (cos the woman does it all the time -she thinks she owns the road), and they said that if they came out all obstructing cars would get a ticket no matter who was there first so WTF hows that right so i, you etc can park perfectly legally and still get a ticket cos some jumped up split arse double parks....

any 1 had this surley the rozzer had to be ill informed?

Well, if you're gonna get done anyway, you might as well just go and BURN the neighbour's car...

tow rope is the answer if you dont mind a laugh, removes her car so your mil can get out.

I did once tow a mates punto out his car park space and leave it in the middle of a car park once at an old work. He couldn't move it till his break came up. So it was left for a good 30 mins.

There's your clue, it's illegal to obstruct the road. If they come around to hand out tickets everyone has to have one. They can hardly do one person for breaking the law and not do someone else who is breaking the same law in the same place at the same time.

Most people don't seem to realise that the only place you can legally park on the road is in a marked parking place, anywhere else is technically obstructing the highway and is illegal. You have no right to park on the road outside your own house, unless there is a marked parking space.

well thats not what the rozzers said according to them you can park where you want so long as your not blocking the road and theres no restrictions eg double yellows/permits etc, and so i can park perfectly legally and go on holiday for 1-2weeks and return to numerous tickets or even a tow away? cant see how thats right - i accept proof would be needed on who is there first if i was to take it any further, so much for my taxes paying for the law on myside.. i can feel a banger taxed and tested coming on or 3
