i will let you in on a little trade secret..........if its a hot foil type.......get some de-mineralised water........ put it in a cheap (jug type) kettle or in an old saucepan then bring the water to boil.......then gently lower the maf into the water keeping the connector block out leave it in there for 5 mins (on the boil still) keeping the connector block out of the water with wire.... remove the maf and leave to dry once dry re-fit to vehicle

And serve with garnish, un chips!!!:D :D

REET. . . .AS FAR AS I CAN TELL , there is no way to measure the maf as its an electronic type of themocoupler [measures temperature in the high end bracket] if it go's outs spec then its u/s ,i have heard of peeps taking it out and cleaning it and getting good results [fink its wishfull thinking] the diagnostics cannot detect if its out of speck ,its faults can be a= open circuit[u/s] b closed circuit[u/s] d= outa range[u/s] c= intermittent [u/s] or it works perfect. . . .so you might say what makes it so hard to detect a fault. . .well the correction voltage happens at high temp /of air to induction so you would have to measure while under load . . . .i had a go un. . . . . .failed, Rover Rons gismo kicks it back into spec, most fail after 35,000,so its a ****e system and thats it really. . . . .:) :) :)
