BEWARE CLEMS123 IS A SPAMMER WORKING FOR FREELANDERSPARES

Hi,

Just read all of CLEMS123's posts and I have to agree that he's highly suspicious.

I'll be keeping a close eye on this thread as I'm going to be replacing my VCU and perhaps some other trans bits quite soon.

I know where I wont be ordering them from.

Good luck guys with the refunds etc.

Singvogel.

I had mine refurbed via a local garage at an eyewatering amount of money, or so I thought til I read what others are paying.
They also sent the VCU away to be flushed, cleaned and refilled with new and improved viscous fluid.
That was a year ago.

It's all been checked by me using all the available methods on this and other forums and is functioning spot on.

All I have to do now is make sure my tyres don't spoil everything again.

Hello Singvogel
If you buy from Bell's make sure he's aware that you have the later VCU fitted as the drive shaft on the later VCU (or the flange) is shorter than the earlier version. I had to shorten the drive shaft (grinding) which allowed the two flanges to tighten up correctly. Bell's are aware of this problem and advised me to shorten the shaft, give me a shout if you would like more info.

Thanks for that Nick - I'll get back to you if I need help.

well i have my replacement vcu from freelander spears uk .
And i will have it fitted at the weekend so i we will see if it works and ill keep you posted.
the way thay have been so far it good but we will see if the new one works. And if it does credit to them but thay must no by the fact that 4 people on here alone have had the same thing around the same time theres a problem. we will see

And to update my experience, I have had a reply from FreelanderSpares and it would seem that the situation will be resolved to my satisfaction.

Things go wrong, products fail, things get missed - sh*t happens basically. Its rarely the sellers fault and I have always believed that it is how a company handles a problem after it has been identified that counts for a lot more than the initial problem.
Their proposed resolution keeps me happy and redeems the original screw-up.
yes but will thay admit that there was a fault with them we will see

my second one of freelander spare seems OK I am pleased to say they sent me a new one very quickly as I am disabled and need 4 wheel drive in this bad wether so i do not get stuck I explained this to them and next day it was here good on them and remember they do not renew them they only sell them so we must blame the refurbishers
