Looks a great trip, shame its completely wasted on those idiots, Angus Deayton is the must useless man on the planet and whilst Mariella Frostrup is more useful behind the wheel she is irritating the hell out of me.

They always seem to use a ford everest in that no matter where they are

Some have been good, some are crap though. Greg Davies and Rhod Gilbert was good on the last series.

I must say, some of the 4x4s are a bit poor, but i guess it's what they can hire for the trip

Why they put media types in them , as they are the wettest bunch you can find , their sheer incompetence beggars belief, mind you the repeated " oo its really scary" helps hype it up . How scared can they be with a film crew in another 4x4 tagging along ?
I just watch for the scenery etc .

It's all set up. There are supposedly two support vehicles.

More fake ass **** from the New BBC

Of course theres support vehicles, the two driving have no idea what to do when it all goes wrong and its hard to fit the film crew, soundman and director all in the boot, doesn't mean its 'fake', it just means there were other vehicles there, remember that they aren't off road enthusiasts, I bet if one of us went onto a stage and tried to crack a joke we would brick it where as they would be thinking 'what a donut'...

+1
You even see the other motor. They also had an everest and it was also missing the rear bumper but it was white.

The implication is that the whole thing is rough and ready, like the camera in her tent 'self filming'. I wonder how many times they drove back to do retakes etc.

Y'see I have a friend in the TV production business - you'll have seen his shows/programmes and he tells me it's all bollox. It wouldn't surprise me if these two were flown to a hotel by chopper and all the driving takes were done by someone else.

All the motoring progs are fixed inc Top gear and as for Bear Grylls survival. the fooker gets shipped to an hotel every night. Wilderness survival my arse

Top gear isn't reality. Clarkson has said the challenges are as close to real as they can be but that there is true competition between them as they are pretty competitive. Said they have very strict timescales to keep to so that they all come in at least close together. Cept the merc mclaren challenge which went badly wrong.
