Hi all today while watching the challenge tucks at the landrover show (Ripley) the lady commentating was hit by a v8 challenge truck it looked like it ran over her leg, I went as soon as i saw it happen but saw the air ambulance arrive soon after. Anyone know if she is OK?

Can you elaborate slightly how that happened? You don't often accidentally run over someone's leg too often

It looked like he was going to drive up to her and stop very closely, but didn't stop in time :( it was ridiculous how it happened - should never have happened either. Completely unnecessary stunt IMO.

I was there when it happened, he basically drove over her leg and then reversed back over it, she had her back to the vehicle and the driver appeared to have kept edging forward towards her, not sure if she banged her head on the axle twister metal ramp but she didn't appear to be conscious,

At first i thaught she was pinned against the twister, good job she wasnt! She was deffo conscious (I must have been at a different angle) shocking to see, her comentary was great too - poor woman!

Sad news! Hope she recovers from it ok. Any info on the truck/driver? How did he get delt with or will it just get swept under the rug..

Would imagine 'sweeping under the rug' will be way off anyone's agenda for something as public as that. Hope she's ok. A

We are pleased to report that Diana Tigwell is OK and in good spirits. It was an unfortunate accident this weekend that regrettably can occur in motorsport and demonstrations of this kind. She’s looking forward to getting back on the show scene as soon as possible and hopes to see you all at Billing in July.

Could be a basic reaction - You hit something with a bump - I reckon the first thing you think of is reversing back.. If he'd known he'd actually gone over her and not just knocked her down he might have just stopped dead...

maybe he would have seen here if she was the only person there and she had hi vis on, I know when I'm working on site its full ppe or no entry and if there is plant working wait for driver to acknowledge and put bucket down etc before approaching

OK, I don't know thw whole scenario and what's gone on, but based on the reports of her accident and that video, my thoughts ....

Tell me that bloke at 1.00 onwards didn't go under the lee side of a vehicle still being winch recovered? Or is there something I don't see?

Hardly a good demo ... especially with so many people also very close by to the recovery scene!

I know we all make mistakes when we're recovering whilst we're out, but this is a DEMO to possibly ordinary, none-Landrover owning people, and they really ought to be much more accountable for how they conduct themselves.

Hate to say it, but there was maybe an accident waiting to happen ....

No amount of hi vis's in the world would have stopped it. Segregation would have though. Accident waiting to happen.
