I took the front prop off and went for a spin and there was no spin. looking at one of the uj, it looks like its wrong, there is a small amount of play but I am going to replace both ujs anyway. Hopefully it'll sort the problem.

Is there still play in the flange?

Yup. Also ordered the transfer box out put bearing and affiliated parts so hopefully that'll sortout the play at the flange end
