Just out of interest, myself and a couple of mates are looking at the idea of taking a trip to either Norway or Sweden, having a mess about in the snow and get some skiing in.

What modifications would you do, if any, to prepare a TD5 for the cold. I have had previous experience of setting up a Volvo FL12 to go into the artic circle, and that involved replacing all oils and fluids, and fitting fuel heaters to stop the diesel freezing. Now I don't think we'll be getting into these type of extremes, but they think we maybe going down to -15 in places.

Any ideas?

Better ask the locals, they should now better. I wouldn't worry about -15 or even -20 as we get that kind of temperatures here as well, not as much snow though.

There is at least one user from Sweden and one from Norway on this forum (disco d and garybrun respectively), maybe give them a PM.

In both Sweden and Norway LR owners have their forum. Both forums have an International section in english.

Swedish forum: - SVENSK LAND ROVER KLUBB - FORUM - :: Index ; Int. section: - SVENSK LAND ROVER KLUBB - FORUM - :: Visar forum - International Forum

Norwegian forum: LRforum ; Int. section: LRforum -> International Forum
(there are some threads on the subject, here's one of them: Td5 Winter Preparation - LRforum ).

Open a thread on the subject in each of those forums and I'm sure you'll get all the answers you need.

Have fun!
