Disco 1 Wing mirrors

Hi all

May be a strange question but has anyone ever fitted different with g mirrors to there discovery 1?broke a few off roading now venue with them tucked in, was thinking g would be easier with defender like mirrors as they fold in a lot more or would be easy to remove when off roading if needed?

Mate had defender mirrors on his disco. They looked absolutely ****e. I'd rather just buy two spares and carry them in the boot.

Ah right, how do you remove the current discovery mirror do you have to Pope off plate on inside of door? And then is it just bolts holing them on, I have all ways got garage to do them as usually have more repairs at same time lol. I'd that's the case may just leave panels off inside and win them on and off each outing?

From memory, very easy to remove and if you are planning it then no reason NOT to make it as simple as possible. It is in rave or haynes.

hardest thing was refitting the inside cover plate without breaking the holding pins.

Yes, really simple, cover off, 2/3 nuts and unclip the wiring.

From memory ,Don't you have to pull the window rubber out a bit ? Or maybe not.

Not that Im aware of. Been a couple of years though.
