Winch bumper number plate location

Just fitted a new winch and bumper from Goodwinch.
Now trying to work you the best place to mount the number plate?
Stuck it in the window for now but i'm sure this isn't legal.

So, where did you mount yours?

Seen a fair few with them on the bulkhead vents

Here is mind before and after. My engine/ axle protector has a small up turned lip in this first picture.


The number plate is bolted to the lip in this picture. You could make your own bracket up between the chassis legs if you haven't got a shield fitted.

Just a idea. Hope it helps.

Grill is the easiest mount it one 3 M6 bolts with 3 bits of flat bar hooked through the grill, so no drilling and no need to remove it when off roading
I looked at bulkhead vent idea but actually quite tricky to get it nice looking and it also fouls on bonnet when of full lift.

Thanks guys, i guess as long as it is visible the actual mounting place doesn't matter?

The trouble with putting it there is when you open the vent the numberplate can't be seen. I'd make up a bracket of some sort so it can go on one side of the winch bumper.

Mounted mine on winch bumper using the fair lead bolts and a couple of small brackets.

On the grille, held on with cable ties. Simples!

I did the same as Harry, but once i get a roofrack i wanna put it up there.
That's also legal in The Netherlands, not sure about the UK.
