Just thinking about more road biased tyres if I can find some at a bargain price. I get more choice from modern sizes and wonder if a 235/85 is the right choice and whether they stay legally wthin the lines of the standard wings?

Anyone got any pics of 235/85's on LWB rims on an S1?

Cheers Toby

Hi Toby ,

I saw that you asked this question over on the lrsoc forum and didn't get any replies . I do have some photos of my 86" with those sized tyres on , but they would not be of any use to you as they don't show the wheels in relation to the wings . I was going to take some more photos today , but didn't get time . I'll try to remember tomorrow .

I think that they do protrude slightly , but not so much that it would bother me . Being a tatty ex-trialer if it were a problem I would just tweek the wings a bit .

Hope this is of some help ,

Nick

Thanks for that.
Wouldn't want to fall foul of the fuzz if they stuck out if the arches.
After some research think the extra width would harm the already terrible turning circle.

Did you still want some photos ? I had a close look at mine this morning , and the wheels don't stick out passed the wings , so you wouldn't need to worry about having your collar felt . Can't help you about the turning circle as mine has a later axle and steering box and turns nicely .

Would love some pics if you have some.
