As above I read that someone change the lower ball joint but I can't not find it now that I need it. I just want to ask a few questions about the job before I go about mine. Marty

I'm doing both mine in the next few weeks.

I'm planning on doing the whole wishbone with all new bushes because they look like the originals, so its about time.

Le us know how you get on.

easy enough ,though a grinder is needed to remove the 3 rivets if not bolts and long bar to free joint from hub carrier nuts 22mm

Can you do all this without have to take the wishbone off or hub. My idea is, take off wheel undo ball joint nut separate ball joint from housing then grind off the three rivets.

Be warned the taper can be a rite bar steward to shift sometimes, other times they come out easily.
As stated above. You need a grinder to linish off the rivet heads, it is possible to drill them out but it's a slow process as the rivets are hard as, er rivets!

if you are having problem getting the nut of the taper bolt on the ball joint then put a ck underneath and jack it up a bit this will stop it from turning also put a wooden wedge or similar between the hub and the wish bone this way you are not struggling

I have a ball joint splitter so hopefully be able to put that into use. Ill start spraying wd40 on to it now and perhaps next weekend or when ever it will ease out. I got a Delphi make ball joint, I think they are better that brittle part.
