No EGWhite smoke on start up at temperature or cold (The Problem).
information:

No EGR.
No loss of oil.R.
No loss of oil.
Fuel consumption still around 29 mpg.
No apparent loss of performance.
Did a check on a previous thread, gunning the engine with my finger over the dipstick hole and no spitting of oil or funny sucking noises.
Intercooler pipe has a little oil in it
Cyclone washed out a few months ago.
SO why the white smoke??
Any ideas or things to check for???
Cheers.....

I take it you mean the fuel pump timing? If so do you have an idiots guide i could follow?
Cheers It was one of the things that crossed my mind!

you tube has some vids
and yes injection pump timing mine was retarded and on over run it would plume white smoke i had some one time the pump and no more white smoke and bags more power

James one big puff on start up then clear cloud is breaking up pretty well by the time it gets passed the front wing if the wind is behind

so it is hanging for some time ,which means fuel not water, does it turn over a few times before it fires or smoke at idle

ok so i am looking at valve seals if there is a bit of blue in the smoke, i am sure there is not though, if no blue just good ole white injectors could do with replacing. Regarding the timing of the fuel pump ie a bit of overrun.
which order would be the best order to hit this?

for those that would like to know last night i though fook it and through some diesel treatment stuff in the tank double dose! and this morning no white smoke later in the day no white smoke well fook me could it have been a really crap batch of diesel !!!!! who knows..
