What size tryes would you prefer to use on a Disco for all round stuff ie driving to work and green laning.

Assuming no suspension mods......

think jango put sum 235/85 on steel disco rims which had the centres rewelded to give more offset on his rangie with no hassle, but the fooker int bin on in ages to ask:rolleyes:

You forgot 31/10.50/15,just fitted some muds on standard springs,30mm offset on rims.:) Will be removing spoiler and trimming end caps today, but they fit ok with a chunk out of endcaps.Might give it a cameltoe as well .

Well I was going for 'or equivalent' as the question was on general size rather than exact millimeter dimensions.

Although those numbers are more a more sensible way of measuring the tyre, the other way makes more sense to me ;)

I run 265's on mine not by choice more due to the fact that I had them so I might as well use em. Good for mud, ruts etc and fine for general road use but I do a fair bit of heavy towing and sometimes wish me gearing was a bit lower. Just means I don't use top gear a lot with a heavy trailer on.

LOL, your car, your choice ... ;)

You've seen my 31 x 10.5 R15 BFG AT's in action .. I'd suggest for an all-round vehicle they're pretty damn brilliant. Good for on or off-road without being too specific for either. Slightly raised gearing which is great solo, but doesn't help towing a caravan much on-road, more clearance off-road.

Hopefully next year I'm upping the size to 33's or so .. as I intend to cut down the towing by getting a Mondeo, TD4 freelander or small jap 4x4, Kia Sportage, Mitsubishi Pinin whatever! so the Disco will really become much more an off-roader and toy rather than, as now, our main car.

Hmm I remember a comment on a recent weekend outing to the effect of "it's all about the driver, not the equipment" as someone's big tyres got stuck on a hill, and my little 205/80s drove straight up :D:D

OK I just checked the poll results - who's not taking it seriously and picked 205s????
(It wasn't me even though that's what I currently have)

And if you're serious, why ???

You didn't need to drive up that grassy slope... I just let the car roll up it:D:D:D
