Which Haynes manual?

Hi all,

Thinking I'll be doing the head gaskets soon, so I went online to see which manual I could get to suit my 04, V8 4.0 gulf spec D2.

It looks like there's none that match that year in a V8(?)

Choices were a diesel book for the correct year, or the V8 3.9 book for an earlier year?

I'm looking for Instructions specific to heads / gasket job, and also general info for other jobs on the list.

If Haynes won't suit, is there anything else I could look at?

Thanks I've already got Rave, but am looking for something a bit more instructional that assumes the reader is as stupid as me

RAVE is way more comprehensive than Haynes all the way though... IMO you'll not find anything simpler to understand that RAVE

I think the only thing you can use is Rave. Haynes haven't produced a manual for your car and I wouldn't want to gamble on the 3.9 being the same. Rave is quite simple to understand and easy to follow IMO.

Haynes is for the DIY car mechinic.
Rave is for the motor trade, therefore assumes that a qualified motor engineer/mechanic will be reading it, that is why Rave leave out a lot of the basic functions which a mechanic would know so no need to be told told like Haynes manuals do.

So why not download the NAS copy of the 3.9 so call 4.0 D2 Rave and also have a Haynes manual as well u then have all the info u should need.
