which freelander is this for?

hi all
bought these discs and pads from an ebay shop for my 99 petrol freelander and were advertsied as such, however once i got the wheel off and had a closer look i noticed the disc currently fitted has a small lip around the centre hole this one is flat.

also the pads are different,

so the question is what model freelander are they for?

any help appreciated before i go wading in with size 10's on the guy

ooohh shiney new discs, have you tried them on for size. Do your pads have the same backing plate?

nice and shiney bit bummed cos i verhauled the rear brakes with no probs.

the disc will fit just doesn't have the lip on the inner hole. the pads are also different, hence my reluctance to fit either component. are these for FL2 or TD?

'97 to '00 use one set of discs and pads,

late 2000 on use different pads and discs. Have you got any part numbers?? manufacturer of pads?? Can you see a label with freelander 97-00 or 01>??

Petrol and TD use the same pads and discs - just the age that alters the type.

Just had a closer look....

Those pads are for a '97 to 2000 freelander. The discs may be for the same year.

Is yours post 2000??

perhaps I should read the thread properly!!! Now i see you have a 99 freelander.

The lip is simply for locating the wheel - shouldn't be a problem without. Could even be part of the hub that protrudes through and allows the brake disc to locate??

Compare your worn pads with the new - do they match up??

Are you struggling to get the pads into the carrier?? It may need a clean, (file or emery paper) and copper grease where the brake pad edges slide in and out.

The parts you have pictured look right to me....

the disc would probably be not a problem but the pads are defintely diffrent
i''l get then the back to the fleabayer anyway and see what happens
