Hi guys,

Whlist I was in the Army I had the pleasure on occasion to drive the LR Wolf, I seem to recall someone saying something about a Mercedes TD engine but just wanted to ask on here, one of you guys are bound to know :)

Do they sell a civvy version of that LR btw ?? the suspension and engine and everything was quite something else tbh, farm tracks with deep holes and rutts could be bombed down at 40mph with no problem at all, well sorted machine that..........

300tdi

Bloody weird that then, maybe it was just because all the Wolf's I drove were pretty new low milers with plenty of gutts still in them then, all the 300 civvy's I have been in have been ones with a good few miles to be fair....100+k

Without trying a new style civvy defender I couldn't say how much better the MOD spec suspension is, however I can tell you that the suspension on the MOD machine is just awesome, really soaks up some serious squaddy abuse, I was at one MOD offroad driving course and the Wolf's were frequently flying several feet in the air over some little lumps and jumps and landing with total grace with no harm done, more like a Bowler Wlidcat than a LR lol.....on that basis I would say the MOD spec suspension is worthwhile just for that !
