Which egr kit to buy

This has probably been done before but:

Would you buy this one

LAND ROVER DEFENDER 300 TDi EGR VALVE BLANKING KIT + INTERCOOLER HOSE | eBay

Or this one

LAND ROVER DISCOVERY 300 TDI INLET HOSE + EGR REMOVAL | eBay

I guess I could be missing something here or are these kit's identical other than one say's defender and one discovery

I'm guessing the first seller is out of stock looking at the price.

Make sure you have plus gassed the bolts before you even try removing them - I sheared one of mine and had to 'engineer' (drill a new hole) the blanking plate to fit.

top one is all you need

technically, since it's vacuum controlled, then can't he just pull the vacuum pipe out and plug it?

if you want top plate it on the cheap, drill some metal

else, ERR4698 is the plate and WAL500010L the gasket. You can just fit that and leave the egr in place. new pipe is ESR2263.

work out if it's cheaper to buy parts separate or as kit.

even cheaper is a gasket and a bit of coke can cut to size, working fine for me

When i put this up I was looking at the price between the two justification

Kit's looked identical, prices were a million miles apart, he's sold lots too

Anyway I've opted for the dearer one because it must be better

i hope that's a joke!

he only put it on for £150 so people wouldn't buy as he's probably out of stock/ away on holiday and you lose your ebay ranking if you remove your advert.

if you look at last sold prices, then they have all been £10.99 or £11.99.

if you really paid 150quid, then bloody hell you are a complete plum :lol:

ps, i have a worn tyre you can have for only £900, bargain!

I've purchased from JGS before and they are very fast and I'd buy from them again.
