So after trying, and failing pretty badly I've got to accept that my painting skills are pretty awful so looking for suggestions on places that will paint my disco for me? I'm not really after anything amazingly fancy or amazingly perfect, probably just one colour too.
I'm in the midlands but location, within reason, doesn't matter too much. Any suggestions on workshops/paintshops etc? Naturally I'd rather not pay too much but I know it'll cost some decent bucks.

great first post, nice intro, brush painted? sprayed? rattle can? prep work? paint used?

oooo where to start........

Repair damage, scotchbrite the paintwork, go over the whole thing with panelwipe, mask everything that doesn't need painting, prime bare metal. A mate bought a perfectly useable spray gun from Lidl for about £12, find friendly paint suppliers try to use 2k paint if its a solid colour, if its going to be metallic its more work cos you will need to paint in base first then 2k lacquer, choose a dry day (not too cold) spray carefully and all will be well
Good Luck

Well I wouldn't recommend 2K paint unless you know what you are doing and have the proper breathing equipment.

that looks the dogs bollocks, was gonna do mine maatt black but bought nato green. gonna have a go in the spring. Tinted windows, nice, diy film? or spray?

Thanks, looks loads better in satin black, tried doing a panel in matt and just looked ****e. Compared to a normal gloss finish ,the satin looks loads flatter and better finish than matt. Tints are decent quality film, d.i.y.job, just get windows very clean and take your time. Took me a few months doing a panel now and then when the weather was ok or I had the time . :)

Oh the complications of Disco painting. My first LR was an S3 Lightweight, straight from MoD. Used to hand paint the green/black stripes every six months or so. Easy as......
