When does the novelty wear off?

I had my 90 about a month ago, and I'm still an over excited lunatic about it. Talking about her all the time, love seeing her on the car park when I leave work, constant smile when driving, eyes scouring the road for others to wave at.

I'm guessing it will be when I'm scraping ice off the inside of the windscreen? Or when I'm handing over half of my income to the garage?

when you decide giving half your income to the garage is too expensive and decide to spend a winters weekend under the engine..... but you still smile....Too Late...

As it hasn't started getting cold, wet or dark early in the evenings I'd say your honeymoon period should last a few months but when it's freezing cold, wet , dark and you've got bits of crap falling on your face and you've got to be up early the next day and it's a regular occurrence you'll soon learn to hate it[emoji90] [emoji609]

Welcome to the dark side of motoring! Depending on your age-group the novelty will eventually be replaced with a mixture of endearment & love-hate mood swings for the brand. Although you are unlikely to be able to explain to non LR owners just why you remain loyal, there is every chance that you will. Should you sell the bloody thing & revert to 'normal' vehicles you will probably suffer such withdrawal symptoms that only the purchase of another (probably worse, because you spent a fortune on your original) LR will restore the balance.

I've had mine for about three years and the novelty hasn't worn off yet. I enjoy finding excuses to drive it too. I'm always puzzled when friends and colleagues complain about having to drive around the place or that such and such a drive is too far (in their hatchback or family saloon). I can quite happily do 500-600 miles in a day in the Land Rover when I'm out on a trip enjoying the countryside.

2 years now and I still love driving my D2

Love hate, but always ends in mutual fondness, am sure my landy loves me too for all the care and effort it has had from me.....and in return it still makes me smile every time I see it and drive it....what a sad #### I am, but alas its the only way

They are slow by todays standards, as aerodynamic as a house brick, they drink fuel like a fish does water,, and you feel every bump and hole in the road as you drive! BUT MY GOD I REALLY LOVE MINE. (sorry for shouting) but nothing beats a Landy!! Regards. Chris

Had landies for years love them had present v8 over a year and man every time I start it up and drive it I just smile don't need radio just listen to the engine drinking my wages but I love it

Novelty wears off everytime somthing needs replacing, and its raining for weeks...

Or like yesterday, doing a chassis repair and run out of weldy gas...

Then I drive her again and all is forgiven
