Just got in my freelander this morning and drove it down the drive when i suddenly heard this trickling noise, looked over to the passenger seat under the glove box area and water poured out of it?? I know it rained last night very heavy but what is happening and what is this box type thing under the glove box?? help! rather worried:confused:

oh right... does that mean the heater unit is leaking?? as the water dripped out onto the carpet

Not necessarily, it could be a leak from your bulkhead or windscreen.

further investigation is called for.

do a search on here for any similar leakiness :)

ok i will do, i just need to know if its safe to drive today, in other words nothing serious. It is due back in the garage next tuesday so i can mention it to them then, but just wanted to make sure i arent going to blow anything up by driving it before! lol

you could taste it on yoour fingers. gross I know, but if it tastes sweet then its probably coolant.

there is a drain hose somewhere that when blocked causes a leak into the footwell, has come up before on here somewhere.

good luck

The hose on mine was missing when I got the car - wet carpets after using the aircon.

I cut a length of garden hose, which when heated in boiling water slid on to the evaporator box and carries water out into the engine bay.
