Hi all

I am thinking of replacing my P38 after 4 years of decent ownership. Prices are all over the place so I thought I might gain some opinions here on what I should advertise it for.

Its a 99 with the later Thor V8. It had the block replaced with a Turner item by a LR specialist some time ago. Air springs converted to coils - rides very well.
Superb interior and new headlining. Beginning of rust bubbles where each rear wing meets the arch liner.

140K
Excellent service history - I spend a significant amount a year on rolling maintenance conducive with the age of the car. Over the last four years:
Entire exhaust system manifolds back
Front wheel bearing
Steering bar and various bushes.
Rear discs/calipers
I have been working through every 18 year old pipe/tube and gasket in the engine bay to ensure reliability.
Changed the heater matrix for an Audi item to address the well known Heater O ring failure. This is a well renowned and costly but worth every penny.
Regular servicing of all diff, gear and transfer box with filter, engine fluids as you should.

All of the above is receipted from respectable LR specialists.

Comments and advice appreciated.

4.0 or 4.6?
It's a reasonably nice example but I wouldn't be expecting much more than 1500-2000 if it were me selling it.
Springs will put off a lot of people (it's a swear word on here!)
Thing is, there's thousands of them out there and people are asking silly money for some of them. You can get a reasonable l322 from about 3k now so you're really looking at enthusiast market and they tend to want top spec and limited edition ones.
That's only my opinion though.

I think it's relatively low spec as it doesn't have steering wheel controls.
Need a bit more info really.

Less than expected abuse. Whats happened to you guys!

Yes coils and low spec. When I bought it I wanted as little down time as possible and after 4 years, the only time it has faltered is a couple of relays and the O rings which I am deeply chuffed with!

I think I might get more interest showing it locally or joining a local classic club (loads of interest in SW London) so people can actually see it.

3K on an L322 is certified mental.

I bought my fully loaded 120k 2001 Vogue 4.6 for a little over £1600 so yeah

they arn't worth much and with it being converted to coils that might put some buyers off.
EAS is one of the defining features of the 38! :)

It's what sort of interest there is in SW London that worries us. Classic? Stick it in a lockup for twenty years.;)
