was in my load door panel a while back to investigate a window element problem and found when the facia was removed some kind of black liner ripped to buggery, dare say the last owner wasn't as light handed.

anyway, what is it? so i can order new stuff, i assume its for insulation, water tightness etc.... could explain why i have a puddle in my load cubby box area. had similar problem with an old golf in my main doors leaving water in the footwell,
anyway any suggestions to the type material etc...

cheers

i,m resigned to living with the water problem, but i would like to get this membrane material, any ideas where to get it from?

The damp course membrane I used is the stuff builders put in the floor of houses, but any thick polythene will do. Stick it in with 'no more nails' type of adhesive and seal any holes with duck tape. Search the forum for your cubby box water problem there are alot of threads on it. The two main causes seem to be a leaking rear door seal or condensation. (do you have a rubber load space protector in the car, as this causes condensation in the cubby box )

thats what i was thinking but it seemed a bit rough thought there was something more specialised, heck if it works B&Q here i come.:D

regards the cubby box, on my list of things, got a few other items to get done 1st, anyway thats another days thread trawling:p

thanks for the help, will keep you posted if it does interetingly solve the damp issue.

Check the threads but it seems that if your boot carpet is wet its your door seal, but if its just the cubby box and its dripping from its lid then its condensation. ( drill holes in lid to prevent it ??? )
