Sorry for the dumb question but what is green-laning? Being an Aussie, I can only guess that it's finding some wet, greasy, slippery tracks on private properties which have seen better times n a bit of a challenge. I've heard the term many times before but never bothered to ask...any explanations or pics would be great. :)

It looks like great fun fellas! Very jealous! :)

It's probably the equivalent of us going on the fire and access tracks in the state forests, but more lush green surroundings. During summer they are hard-compacted with deep ruts n rough-as, but in winter they turn into slippery clay-like slop which fills deceptively with water, and are very demanding to get through...if at all. Hehe!

just been watchin that vid must admit one of the best ive seen, well done to who ever created it and to those who took part aswell :clap2:

Agreed! That is one of the better vids I've seen, kudos to everyone involved! :)

I'm building my Disco 1 up as a tourer, but have been dabbling in a bit of trail work last sunday night. I've got a fair bit of experience with my Jeep TJ, so that was the first opportunity to take the Disco out for a test since buying it. I was extremely impressed with how it did and what it was asked to do (I was taking things easy by my standards), but the mate I was with in his Bravo 4x4 was genuinely gob-smacked with how well it performed. He admitted that a few times I'd made things look so easy he blindly followed me in, not realising how tough/deep/rutted/muddy the terrain really was! I've been asked to come along for a mission by him a few of his mates this coming sunday, so will take some pics n vids for you guys to check out what we get up to anyway.

Here's the link for a build-up thread for my Disco, so check it out make comments, recommendations, etc...that's what it's there for! It's still got a long way to go, but there's a heap of parts to fit plus more on order! :

green laning is generally driving don byways. SO similar to driving your tracks n trails. The green lanes gerally had acient rights of way on them. Some are very long, some are yards long. Some have challenging driving conditions, some have conditions that make it impossible to drive eg width or height restrictions. But in genaral its an excuse to get outside and see soemthing that aint the usual commute/urban backdrop.
