Is that a DAB hanger or standard FM?

Tried to repair wheel arch liner with heat-gun and bits of milk-bottle. Not surprisingly it is much worse now. These liners seem a lot thinner than others I have repaired with success. Does anyone know if they are PP or HDPE?

Radio reception has lots to do with the aerial fitted and it's connection to the vehicle. The inner section of the coax needs to connect securely to the centre of the radio socket. The coax outer braid should be connected to the chassis of the radio and a cleaned area of roof by the aerial. This is because the car mass causes what's known as a ground plane. A ground plane is only effective if the grounding is sound. I believe that a sun roof near the aerial reduces the aerials effectiveness due to the slightly reduced ground plane in the aerial footprint. But correct grounding is an important part of radio reception.

Yep all over that as I use co ax at work. thing is it was fine before I changed the head unit for an aftermarket jvc unit. when its a bit nicer outside I will try a new aerial base just for good measure.

so you have 74,000 posts and you let the VCU wreck youe IRD. how so??????
I have £600 you can have for it.
But your right, I really cannot understand why Land Rover made so many parts out of cheese.

Yes well, I'm somewhat p...d today. Yesterday some jerk was driving along my street and splatted my FL with black paint! It's all over the rear, driver's side, bonnet, wheels, even the windows! Not just mine though but all the cars parked on my side. I hope you can see the splattering in the photos I've taken. Now need to see the police / report and contact the insurance. Wonder if I can get a repaint??

So not bein horrible here, did you do the VCU check or ignore it.
I just bought my hippo and knew on the drive home that the VCU was shot, based on what I read on here.
Jacked up the rear wheel and could not move the wheel albeit with a 600mm bar, so replaced the VCU.
Sometimes the more knowledge we have the more complacent we get, till it bites us.

Try t-cut it may remove it... bit of a ball ache having all to do it all but may be cheaper than claiming on the insurance....

Eeeerrrr, if your still referring to the @The Mad Hat Man post, it's a pi55 take. He does that, quite renowned for it. Go and have a pint, you'll get used to him. Mike

HTR,
do you really need to have one of my companies engines with its fan cowl doors ripped off, touch embarrassing
My avatar? Just emphasising the need to believe in a higher being when things go spectacularly wrong!:D

Anyway, I believe the aircraft made a successful landing - it looks like it was on approach in that pic'. Nothing wrong with the engine - it probably functioned faultlessly. As for the servicing / maintenance well someone buggered up securing those cowlings didn't they!
