Today,, I ve been a busy bee.. stripped rear brakes because the handbrake was sticking badly so thats all nice and free now.. looks like its had a new spring kit fairly recently and the drivers rear wheel was really badly adjusted,,,

also,,fitted some spotlights but need to wire them up tomorrow,,and fitted the beacon bar on the roof but again,,need to button up the wiring..
woo... spotlights... I like pics of spotlights :)

Trouble is, you can cause more damage with them on. :)

I was going to take mine off.

Then when I was parked up in Bristol, a Merc Sprinter said bye bye to it's steering rack, and would have grazed along the side of my FL if the side-steps weren't on.

Survived with a slightly scuffed alloy, which polished out ok.

Yeah, good for things like that.......was on about green laning as they hang too low. :)

Yep,, just bought this very cheaply,,wants a few odds and ends sorting out but was hard to refuse for the money...and really,,its just a bit of a toy for me to chuck into the woods when im rallying etc,, my other motor aint exactly built for forest tracks at speed....

Ah tis a 1.8 - critical to regularly check water and oil levels ...jobs a good un :)

Just giving the hippo some TLC today before the nights draw in tomorrow and the evening drives become night drives. I had an intermittent heater fan problem and AC switch that didn't always click in (worked if you wedged it with cardboard but not ideal). It turned out the fan problem was a connection into the blower assembly under the dash (passenger side LHD car). I prised the AC switch out and with the bending it actually started clicking again but I have another on order so it will be properly fixed soon. The rear demist switch is another niggle but for another day. As long as I can circulate air around with the fan and aircon the damp cool nights will not prevent me from seeing forwards! I also polished up my alloys - incuding the spare which lost its cover over the summer. I guess it was knicked as I don't see how it would come off on its own.

Spotlights wired aswell as the beacon bar and all work,,,bonus!! went to change plugs and 3 of the 4 came out easily,,, the other is well and truely fast,,given it a squirt of penetrant and see what it does tomorrow....

Damned fine! Did you fit your spacers yourself in the end? Any idea of how many hours?

Wossit drive like mister?

Nah I got a local LR speciailist to do them, cos I knew it'd be a PITA to get the bottom bolts out, and as it turned out, I was right! Had some other work to do for my MOT, so I got them to do the lot, saves me messing on! They charged me 3 hours, but it took them 5 (the fronts were easy apparently, they just couldn't get the rears out, so ended up loosening the entire rear end and rotating it back to pop the spacers on).

Drives pretty much the same, doesn't seem any more wishy washy round corners, although i'm slightly more careful taking tighter corners at speed. Bear in mind though I have 30mm spacers both sides and 225's, may not be the same on the standard track with narrow tyres!

Will have a look for a before pic to compare

This was from the day I had my tyres fitted in July, i'll try get a pic in the morning from the same angle

After much thought I shall probably go with the steel modulars with the correct offset already fitted with the same size Disco AT3s like yours which means I don't need to buy shoddy old 16" rims and spacers, so it's cheaper too. I might try the bottom bolts and see if they give before having a go myself when I buy your spacers.
