also changed the fuel filter and tested the intank pump result no fuel out so new pump on order £180 vdo one, and changed the inlet manifold gaskets as they were weeping and found the map pipe was a bit split, oil change tomorrow and grease the props

hope the pump arrives early next week not looking forward to dropping the tank, at least i have some new tank filler hose ready and waiting:vb-biggrin:

all this to get the car ready to tow the tin tent to wales next weekend :rolleyes: will cost more than the holiday:(

It's always necessary to charge a new battery before use as you have no idea how long it's been sat on a shelf. I always write the installation date on mine so I can see at a glance how long it's been in the car.

Started the job of fitting new cam kits to the front doors, finished the passenger one and got the handle off the drivers to do tomorrow .
Not a pleasant job them cam kits but I'm chuffed with how smooth the action is now and no sticky out handle.

A missing segments on the display could actually be a duff display. Overcleaning the contacts for the zebra strip can also cause problems.

I certainly cleaned the copper contacts on the board good but only used a wooden lollipop stick, cotton buds and contact cleaner, nowt abrasive. The screen itself I just used cotton buds and contact cleaner but there was nothing stuck on it really.
 
Replaced the cam bits in the drivers side door handle, horrible job, even using the tie wrap method I found on another site. Nice smooth operating handles on all 4 doors and no sticky out bits.
Refitted the passenger front door card which wasn't quite right from yesterday, bit gappy where it meets the drop glass at the rear end. There is a spring clip in that area which has to go behind the steel of the door not in front.

I don't recall paying anywhere near that and I replaced all the bolts on the hubs ,brakes etc.

A soft pencil eraser used gently is good for contacts. Cotton buds often have a plastic stick these days which in combination with contact cleaner can leave a residue.

Mine were a bar-steward to shift last year. I ended up re-attaching the old disc (which were getting replaced anyway) and hitting from the read with 2lb hammer. Disconnected the steering are to avoid damaging the joints, and then couple of blows on each side & some more Plus Gas for 10-20mins and the hub shifted out.

You have removed the abs sensor haven't you? Mine was welded in meaning I had to fight the sensor ripping through the shroud too. I hadn't noticed that the sensor could possibly be attacked from underneath to maybe give some clearance to miss the shroud? Anyway, plenty bashing on everything including the brake disc, fitted backwards, didn't free it but a 3 legged puller did. Cut a slot in the shroud, which survived its ordeal, so if it happens again the sensor can stay in situ.
