Fixed my hevac book symbol and air con at the same time. Turned out to be the passenger fan not working gave the lead to it a wiggle and all is good.
Freezing a/c lots of blower action and no book symbol

fitted a replacement cruise control relay pitty I cant get it out for a test drive we have a semi shared driveway and the neighbor has parked a bit to far forward so I cant get her out :(

New OEM steering bars, steering much better now, car drives straighter than ever. Ordered replacement plastic bits for sunroof, great deal from some company in Istanbul on fleabay.
Removed the wasp nests from both fromt wings (damn buggers get in between it and the door), same for tailgate.
Went for a spin, Monday new (used) DMF and new cluch, i'll finally be able to drive without watching my right foot in 3rd and 4th gear.

About 5mm. It stands off the metal of the roof though. Open the boot, pull the rubber seal off and you can have a look at the thickness there.

The fans on both mine were riveted, not sure how many blades though. I hope your OEM viscous is not actually ****part, they have a reputation for lasting less than 6 months.

Well the new one is a darn sight noisier! Missus came in saying the car was very loud. She's right! Until it warms up and loosens it roars and when it kicks in climbing hills it roars again!

I think that might be why the original only has 10 blades.

This is the one I got: Viscous Coupling & Fan Assembly P38 2.5TD BMW PGG101290 G Island 4x4 - Specialists in Land Rover and Range Rover Parts and accessories for all models. UK and worldwide mail order.

The Land Rover one here has 11 blades too though: Viscous Coupling with Fan - Genuine Land Rover at www.rimmerbros.co.uk.

Maybe they added another one on later models. Strange as mine never showed the slightest hint of overheating and it has done a lot of towing.

Progress for you!

Moved her to London and made a list of things that I need to fix.

Headlining
Glowplugs
A/C (I always thought blend motors but I have recently started turning off A/C. They all function fine. Probably just out of gas)
Replace dash lights. One has died behind the message centre/mileage display. Plus all of the bulbs behind the centre console. Which is a pain.
Replace discs and pads.

Will start with the discs and pads. I hate doing plugs.
