its nigh on imposable to roll the bag back up by hand but i have a plan in mind I am going to take the wheel of and try and get enough room between top of suspension and bottom to put the bag on fully extended and see if it inflates properly that way its got to be worth a try but will have to wait till the rain stops cos i am not going to lie under a car with all that rain coming down i will float away

Have you over-extended the height sensor and dislodged some some crap? Get some diags on it and watch the relevant sensor as the car rises - it may think the corner is inflated to the correct height.

I recovered from this by putting bag on fully extended, slowly lowering car (with some air in bag) forcing bag to fold, not easy as rear is angled, so had assistance from crowbar.

Think the shock was off, if memory serves, not sure if needed though

Lift chassis away from axle as far as you can until axle is hanging on shocker, inflate bag and lower chassis to roll bag. NEVER lower the chassis until there is pressure in the bag.

Yup its rolled out too far
Its not impossible to roll it back by hand but it is bloody difficult! ive done it so I know its possible
Will be easyer off the car

It will be easier ON the car if he follows my previous instructions. There is a special tool for rolling these the car is an excellent if somewhat larger substitute.

There should be. You should only need a few PSI in bag to expand it and it should fold over itself as the chassis is lowered. Certainly easier than trying to do it by hand i would think.

thats the fold that i am getting but couldnt get it to fill past the fold will try the instructions once the weather clears up

I tried by hand, couldn't and resorted to the large tool (car)

Never been in the situation, but that is also what i would use. Bags should come rolled he has obviously dropped the car then tried to inflate them. Which is a complete and utter no no. There MUST be some pressure in the bags before the chassis is lowered. Or you get that sort of result.

Same thing happened to me when I fitted new front airsprings. After I fitted the top & bottom pins, I kept them extended, ran the engine to allow the compressor to fill up the bags. I remember that I kept the tailgate open while I did this.

Only fills up storage (not bags) with any door open

thanks for all the help and advice fellas went out today and the bag was in and inflated in 10 min all good on the arse end now

I put a bottle jack between the axle and body and jacked the **** out of it till the shocker was fully extended and the bag just fell into place

closed the tail gate and it inflated straight away in less than 10 min job was done

:tea: hope the fronts go as easy it seems like since getting the auto it fights me at every job i try to do i changed the bags on my manual p38 all four in an hour and half
