Help, I have just got a 2002 Disco TD5, owner moved to India! so cheap. Runs perfect but its got wet carpets on drivers side. No obvious signs where water coming from, any ideas? Second issue is a flashing odo, apparently its done this for ages but otherwise works normally, amswers please.

Leak is likely sun roof or possibility blocked air con drain or even windscreen sealant.

Flashing odometer may be because it has been replaced and has the wrong mileage.

Flashing ODO means the mileage recorded on the speedo is different to the mileage recorded on the BCM, which is under the drivers seat iirc.

This may be because:

It has had a different/new speedo fitted (which will display its own mileage, not the BCM mileage)
It has had a different/new BCM fitted, which will not have the same mileage as the speedo head.
It has had the mileage reset but only had half a job done.

Most auto electricians will be able to delve in and see what the BCM mileage is, and/or correct ot so the blinking stops.

Had a D2 a while back that had had a new BCM at 6 months old, and the mileage was never coded into it, had been flashing for 5 years!

Thanks guys, windscreen looks good so either sunroof or air con drain, odo sounds like when km speedo fitted when exported to germany, BCM? not sorted. Lets sort the leak then worry about speedo.

Leak is most likely air con drains blocked. get yourself underneath the car and have a look either side of the bell housing area. There is a little rubber nipple either side and they tend to get blocked. happened to mine about 2 months ago. Just give the nipples a flick ( I do mean the ones on the car lol) and they should empty. No more wet carpets! Hope this helps.
