well needed restoration of my series 2a

right, front off again yesterday, in the rain, brakes dissconnected / cut the pipes

bolts un done on the steering , shockers and spring shackles

one wheel off to give me a bit of clearence

then on the bench

the u bolts out first

then springs off

brakes and free wheeling hubs off next

then the 2" hub nut

back plates

Nice birds nest there in the battery tray. Are you going to use the original road springs or replace with parabolics?? good to see this thread back, keep up the good work.

yeah , while i wer busy with work in the summer, the birds put it to good use,

yes am keeping the road springs when i have rebuilt them, its been a shame but have had so much to do other than my series2, now im trying to find the time again, if even 2 hrs a night ,

am off tomorrow so that should see the axles stripped completely ready for cleaning to bare metal again

right had a couple of hours tonight so finished strippin the axles,

swiv housings off,

balls out

oil seals out

gettin lighter

clean all the 50 years **** off the diff to find the nuts

diff out

lovely

all ready for stripping to bare metal and red oxiding over christmas, then rebuilding

had a reet **** day, towed the ifor plant trailer to henley in arden to repair a busted lead water main, got in a ditch up to me waste in freezin fast flowin water and worked in it fer 5hrs, then got home frozen and well an truly ****ed off,

finaly cracked the diff open and it soon put a smile on me face, looks bloody bran new, will take a shot of the teeth, thers not even a mark on them , looks a complete rebuild / new unit

tis nice when that happens - was having a root round the back of me other garage today and found a new spanking 200 crank which i never knew i had, which is exactly what i need to fix a 60k 200 i won the other month for 99p

ere, i've found a S1 that's just been pulled out of a blokes barn near Eccleshall, i've been stalking the place for a few days but can never find anyone in the house - wonder if they'd notice that it'd gone if i just tow it away

i've knocked and knocked and knocked, at all times of the day but there's never any fecker in - i've even left me contact details twice

if the place gets burgled am sure the neighbors will think it's me that did it

don't know steve, only time i get round your way these days is in the big red fun bus when someone burns their chips at 2am on a Saturday evening

i'v no where to keep it really , unless its in the road, two trailers on me drive two landrovers, three garages full and a storage yard yer cant move in,

just thort , i could leave it on the plant trailer, then it wunt take up no room !

jokin aside, keep on at them , yer'l get there in the end , i did with that one from up the lane past the boat in the village

i don't care if it's uncomfy to drive, it's just a very pretty thing

i musta driven past your yellow thing 4 times a week for 2 years thinking one of these days i'll pop in and ask - and then it vanished !

don't tell anyone but apparently i've just brought a 54 plate 307 with a dead turbo for £250 !
